Hi, I’m Katie. Thanks for visiting.

I recently moved back to my native New York after spending nearly six years living abroad in the U.K. (where my daughter was born) with my husband and our anxiety-ridden pup, Jack Daniels. London is my happy place, and we were able to live and work there (untethered to corporate visas) thanks to my dual citizenship with Ireland. We now live back in Astoria, Queens, and when I’m not exploring the best borough, you can probably find me at Trout Landing, near Lake George; Gallant Fox, in Saratoga Springs; or The Lazy Oar in the Finger Lakes—three vacation rentals that we own and operate in upstate New York.

I’m the host of the Skift podcast, Suite Success: Masters of Hospitality. Every week, I have the honor of interviewing the brightest, most impressive minds in the space—hotel executives, hospitality leaders and industry innovators—in order to uncover the strategies and secrets behind the world’s best brands.

I’m also the host of the soon-to-launch Second Home First podcast, a brand new podcast that explores an unconventional path to homeownership.

Professionally, I’m an award-winning publicist who has led global communications for hospitality icons such as The Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, JW Marriott and Le Méridien in both New York and London.

I am also a writer, penning the Second Home First newsletter on Substack and writing for A-list publications such as Entrepreneur, Business Insider, Yahoo!, MSN, The Everymom and more. I enjoy speaking at top conferences around the world, am a frequent guest on top podcasts, and am often featured as an expert for top media outlets.

When I’m not spending time at my vacation homes, I can probably be found trying a new restaurant in Astoria, NYC with my husband; schooling my British-born toddler on the magnificence of New York bagels; or researching my next investment property while snuggling my newborn son.
